RKJ organizes ‘Utishthit Jagrat’

JAMMU, Jan 14: Radio Kashmir Jammu organized a two hour long variety programme ‘Utishthit Jagrat’ for the youth in celebration of National Youth Day.
The programme started with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Swami Ekarthmandaji from Ramakrishna mission, DDG (E) KK Singh and Station Director VK Sambyal.
In his welcome address, programme Executive KK Lidhoo exhorted the youth to follow the footsteps of Swami Vivekan-anda for inner awakening and for leading the Nation to glory.
In his address Swami Ekarthmandaji lauded the role of organizations and Radio Kashmir Jammu in taking the lead for organizing such spiritually awakening programmes for the youth. Swami ji elaborated upon the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. His speech was followed by an interactive session with the youth.
This was followed by a series of cultural programmes including classical dance performance by Sunandini Jamwal, Ghazal by Manoj Bakshi, Skit entitled Bhand Kur on the Kashmiri Folk theatre style by the students of Central University Jammu, the skit was based on the theme of gender discrimination.
A Comic skit ‘SHE’ was performed by the Jokers group, Chiraiya song was presented by Pranav and the event ended with a Classical Rock performance by Sohail Mushtaq. A short film on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda was also shown. Vande Matram was sung by the performers on the occasion.
Programme Executive, Anjana Badyal presented the vote of thanks at the end of the event.
