Ritwan wins Open Chess Tournament

JAMMU, June 15: Ritwan Sauntra won J&K Open Chess Tournament, while Sumit Grover emerged runners-up in a thrilling blitz match which was played to decide the winner as both the players tied at 5 points each.
Youngsters got great treat to watch reputed players of J&K State playing with them.
47 players out of which 12 were FIDE rated players, participated in this event, organized by Ace Chess Academy.
T S Chib, P A to IGP Jammu distributed the prizes among the winners.
Atul Kumar Gupta president, All J&K Chess Association, Vijay Choudhary, Director and Rama Manager of the Academy were also present on the occassion.
Cash prizes of Rs 10000 were distributed among the winners. Other prize winners included Ritwan Sauntra, Sumit Grover, Soham Kamotra, Meenal Gupta, Arushi Kotwal, Shivinder Chib, Maxim Singh and Ravi Sharma.
Shruti Choudhary, Bhanupriya and Priyanka Sharma were declared best women players, while
Soham Gupta and Arya Naveen Singh were adjudged best U-10 players.
