Revised activities calendar for trekking released

JAMMU, Oct 2: Tawi Trekkers J&K today released revised trekking activities calendar 2020 for remaining period of the current year.
It was announced by Shawetica Khajuria, general secretary of the Club in a simple function at Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab. “The revision of the calendar is necessitated as the Club didn’t organise most of its activities due to COVID-19 pandemic,” Khajuria said.
The revised calendar was released by Co-chairman of Tawi Trekkers J&K, Zorawar Singh Jamwal along with Advisor of the Club, Prof Lalit Magotra, Patron of the Club Rahul Sharma and Ram Khajuria, president of the Club. Vivek Chauhan, Mridhu Padha, Ramesh Khajuria and Sumit Khajuria were also present during the function.
Shawetica Khajuria mentioned that now the Club shall carry out exhaustive reconnaissance of the Purmandal, Mohore Garh, Mansar and Surinsar areas for making it a winter hub of soft adventure activities besides a short trek in the Jungle Gali / Saroli meadow area in Udhampur district in month of November and a winter trekking expedition shall also be organized in Dalhousie- Chamba area for members only during the month of January 2021.
“The Club has planned to depute a four member team to Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak of Africa in Tanzania but it depends on the opening of international flights and finalization of all other arrangements,” said Khajuria, adding that a team comprising Tawi Trekkers was presently at Leh to explore the possibility of soft mountaineering expedition whereas another team has reached Nubra valley to make necessary arrangements for the trekking expeditions for girls.
