JAMMU, Apr 13: A research colloquium was organized by the Centre for Educational Research, MIER College of Education with an objective of orienting the faculty and students pursuing M. Ed. regarding the research work being done at different levels.
The resource person for the research colloquium was Dr. S.K. Panda Assistant Professor, PG Department of Education, University of Jammu, who shared the findings of his doctoral thesis titled “Evaluative Study of Contribution of village Education Committees in the Development of Primary Education in Haryana”.
The session was chaired by Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER Group of Institutions. Eminent personalities present on the occasion were Dr. B.L. Raina, HoD P.G. Department MIER, Dr. H.R. Shan, HoD Centre for Educational Research MIER and Dr. Annie Koul, HoD B.Ed General. The colloquium was attended by all the staff members of B.Ed. and the students of M.Ed. deptt.
Dr. Nishta Rana, Coordinator Center for Educational Research MIER presented welcome address.
She hailed the achievements of Prof. Panda who in fact has many research publications and projects to his credit and presently a ICSSR sponsored project entitled ‘Evaluative Study of Facilitating the Learning of Senior Secondary Student through EDUSAT in Punjab’ is being undertaken by him. Dr. Panda is an editor of a national journal ‘VISION’ published by Sri Sai College of Education, Badhani, Pathankot.
Dr. Panda shared his research work and spoke at length about the objectives, sampling, tools and findings of the study.
