Reasi Police Sports Festival gets underway

REASI, Nov 14: ‘Sports Festival 2017-18’, being organized by District Police Reasi, under Civic Action Programme (CAP) was inaugurated by the chief Virender Sharma, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range at General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium Reasi in presence of SSP Reasi, Tahir Sajad Bhat, Additional DC Reasi, Babu Ram, CO CISF S. Navdeep Singh, besides a galaxy of dignitaries.
Many events were held on the inaugural day in which the players (both boys and girls) drawn from various schools took part with great enthusiasm and the events were watched by a number of spectators of District Reasi.
In T-20 Cricket Tournament, Reasi defeated Pouni-A, while Salal got the better of Panthal-B.
100 Metres Race (Boys), Navjeev Singh of HSS Bharakh, Rakesh from HS Kambal Danga and Mohd Altaf of HS Kambal Danga won gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in 100 Metres Race (Girls), Khalida Bibi of HSS Bharakh bagged gold, Anju Sharma of HSS Pouni won silver and the bronze went to Shurti Devi of HS Kambal Danga.
In Tug of War (Boys), Pouni drubbed Reasi, while Salal prevailed over Panassa and in Tug of War (Girls), Reasi beat Pouni, while Panassa outplayed Salal.
In Volleyball (Girls), Reasi drubbed Pouni, while  Dadoa  defeated Kambal Danga, while in Volleyball  (Boys), Reasi thrashed Salal and Barakh defeated Arnas.
District Police Reasi is off and on organizing such events under CAP in order to bridge the gap between Police and Public and the people of Reasi have been overwhelmingly responding to the initiatives of Police.
Meanwhile, the prizes among winners in Marathon Race held on the occasion of National Integration Day in Reasi were distributed by DIG U-R Range on the occasion.
