Reasi Cricket Club wins inaugural tie of Rigour Cup

JAMMU, Mar 17: Reasi Cricket Club defeated Katra Cricket Club in an easy contest of the inaugural match of the Rigour Cup 50-Over Cricket Tournament at Country Cricket Stadium,  Gharota, near here.
The Tournament in which 16 teams are participating is being organised by Country Cricket Club, under the supervision of Vivek Sharma, former Ranji Trophy player and Vikrant Sharma, Director Country Cricket Academy.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Reasi CC scored 189 runs in 43 overs. Arjun top scored with 58 runs, while Harsh, Karan and Gourav contributed 18, 17 and 16 runs respectively. From Katra CC, Ajeet, Munna Tametar and Anshuman claimed 2 wickets each, while Raju Gunni and Anil took one wicket each.
Katra Cricket Club lost by a big margin as the batsmen failed to show promise. Raju top scored with 28 runs, while Anil contributed 14 runs to the total.
Ajeet Kumar from reasi claimed 7 wickets and was adjudged as the man of the match.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Ashwini Gupta, former Duleep Trophy and Ranji Trophy cricketer.
General Secretary Country Cricket Club, Sandeep Singh Sunny, former Ranji Trophy players and a galaxy of sportspersons were present on the occasion.
The Director Country Cricket Stadium and President Country Cricket Club promised the players of top class organisational quality.
