RCC’s Karmanya wins hearts, but KCCC wins match

JAMMU, Apr 29: Young and promising leg-spinner Karmanya Gupta won hearts with his brilliant bowling display, but could not stop formidable Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) from scripting a narrow win by 14 runs over Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar in the ongoing Summer Endurance 50-Over Cricket Tournament, being organized by Country Cricket Club at Gharota, here.
Karmanya took 7 important wickets by conceding 30 runs in his 7 overs including a magnificent hat-trick in his final over to help his team restrict the strong opposition to 192 runs in 34.3 overs in a rain-hit match. Musaif Ajaz was another successful bowler, who took 2 wickets, while Aditpal claimed one.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, KCCC scored 192 runs, with Sarthak top scoring with 61 runs. Raghav Sharma and Arin Sharma contributed valuable 35 and 24 runs to the total. Snoop also chipped in with 12 runs.
In reply, RCC Srinagar scored 178 runs in 33.2 overs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 14 runs. Harman top scored with 36 runs, while Ashank, Dikshant, Sparsh and Surya contributed 27, 24, 22  and 19 runs to the total respectively. Praful chipped in with unbeaten 8 runs, while Karmanya also contributed equal number of runs. For KCCC, Sampark Gupta bagged 3 wickets, while Snoop and Mokshin took 2 wickets each. Nityam and Raghav Sharma claimed one wicket each. For his 7-wicket haul, Karmanya Gupta was adjudged as the man of the match.
KCCC team is being trained and coached by Sunil Kumar, Cricket Coach.
The match was officiated by Dayal Singh and Deepak Singh as umpires, while Agaste Sharma was the scorer.
The Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Vivek Sharma, Former Ranji Trophy Player and Organizing Secretary of the Tournament.
