JAMMU, Jan 15: Defeating their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC), Srinagar and Sarveshwar Cricket Club (SCC), Jammu sealed berths in the finals of the ongoing 3rd Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
In the first match, Sarveshwar Cricket Club defeated Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) by a narrow margin of 13 runs to enter the finals. Batting first, Sarveshwar rode on a splendid knock of 56 runs scored by Vijay Dogra to make a fighting total of 129 runs. Shubham and Rakesh also contributed 20 and 13 runs to the total respectively. Rahil Singh and Vivek took 2 wickets each for JCC, while Rohit, Deepak and Ritik claimed one wicket each.
In reply, JCC managed to score 116 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 13 runs. Vivek was the top scorer with unbeaten 39 runs, while Sandeep Singh and Deepak contributed 25 and 10 runs to the total respectively. Vijay Dogra took 2 wickets, while Ripu, Aman and Gourav claimed one wicket each.
In another semifinals, RCC Srinagar got better of New Challenger by 5 wickets. Batting first, New Challenger scored a modest total of 110 runs in 20 overs. Gourav Khajuria top scored with 41 runs, while Bansi Lal and Manjeet Singh contributed 22 and 13 runs to the total respectively. Kulvinder Singh was the pick of the bowlers for RCC, who claimed 3 important wickets, while Dilbagh Singh took 2 wickets. Akash Choudhary and Satish also picked one wicket each.
In reply, RCC chased the target easily in 19 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Sajad Ali and Puneet Wattal scored 37 and 39 runs respectively, while Puneet Kumar contributed unbeaten 19 runs to the total. Sahil Sharma took 2 wickets for New Challenger, while Bansi Lal, Sumit and Manjeet shared one wicket apiece.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman, Sadiq Hussain Malik, Sandeep Manchanda, Rajinder Singh and Vinod Kandyara.
The final match will be played on January 31, 2016.
