JAMMU, June 2: Rashmi Kashyap won the girls under-17 Badminton title after defeating Krishika Mahajan in straight sets of 21-17, 21-19 in the ongoing State Open Badminton Championship at Indoor Complex, M A Stadium, here today.
The under-17 boys’ title went to Sehdev Singh, who beat Dheeraj Sharma 21-15, 21-17. Earlier, in the semifinals, Sehdev defeated Ojas Suri by 21-13, 21-18 while Dheeraj trounced Rakshit by 21-14, 21-11.
In girls’ under-19 final, Krishika outplayed Unnati Jaral by 13-21, 21-18, 21-17). The under-13 girls’ title bagged by Sambhavi, who beat Shrijus Sharma by 21-12, 21-08. In the semifinals, Sambhavi beat Mahi by 21-05, 21-03 and Shrijus beat Suhani Sharma by 21-15, 21-14.
Meanwhile, the under-15 girls’ final between Krishika and Unnati Jaral shall be played tomorrow, followed by the valedictory function of the event.
In the prize distribution function, former Minister, Sat Sharma has consented to be the chief guest while Corporator, Sanjay Baru will be guest of honour.
