JAMMU, May 15: Senior BJP leader and former MLC Vikram Randhawa interacted with Lawn Tennis and Boxing players in the ongoing “My Youth My Pride” competitions which is being organised by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council at MA Stadium, here today.
Bikram Randhawa was the chief guest on the occasion who was welcomed by Divisional Sports Officer Jammu with a bouquet. The chief guest declared the Lawn Tennis and Boxing competitions open by releasing colourful balloons.
Earlier, the organising team of the “My Youth My Pride”- a initiative by the Sports Council explained the detail of the event before the chief guest and said that it is the first of its kind tournaments ever being held by J&K Sports Council which spreads for a period of year started from two months back which was declared open by Chief Secretary at Srinagar and Principal Secretary of Department of Youth Services and Sports, Alok Kumar at Jammu.
While terming the initiative a historical event, the chief guest said that the sportsmen are the messengers of peace, harmony and prosperity and it was a great initiative of the Council as well as organizations which involved hundreds of sportsmen in this event across J&K.
Later, the Divisional Sports Officer, Ashok Singh presented a vote of thanks and extended gratitude to the chief to make the event a success wherein 100 boxers and Lawn Tennis players participated in the interaction.
Prominent persons including Vakil Singh, Ravinder Kumar, Anil Kumar (Boxing coach), Vinod Bhardwaj, Sanjay Kumar, Amar Sharma (Lawn Tennis instructor) and Sanjay Sharma were present during the event.
