JAMMU, Nov 27: National Conference Provincial, President Devender Singh Rana today complimented and congratulated Jammu and Kashmir based young sportspersons for bagging eight gold, five silver and three bronze medals in the World Rope Skipping Cup 2019 held at Talkatora Stadium New Delhi from November 22-24.
“The young sports persons have made Jammu proud by distinguishing themselves in the competition”, Mr Rana said while honouring the medallists this evening.
The Provincial President hoped that this discipline of sport may inspire young sportspersons here to sharpen their talent and participate in the national level events.
He complimented them for their devotion and hard work which made them to excel in the event.
Mr Rana said that Jammu and Kashmir has no dearth of talent but there is need for identifying and providing best available coaching to them so that they find their rightful place in the national and international events. He expressed happiness over youth making their presence felt at the national level events.
The highlight of the event, jointly organized by the World Rope Skipping Federation and International Association of Combat Games, was participation of skippers from 10 countries. The team of eleven young starts from Jammu and Kashmir bagged eight gold, five silver and three bronze medals.
While Lakshydeep Sharma, Zayin Dobriyal and Parth Mahajan bagged two gold medals each Ayush Jasrotia and Siddarth Mehra got one gold and one bronze medals each, Ina Dhar, Sudiksha Sharma, Dheeraj Karthol, Arpan Pandita and Devansh Gupta bagged silver and Ankita Rai got bronze medal.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included President of the Rope Skipping Association of Jammu and Kashmir Vikram Sharma, General Secretary, Anu Sharma and Technical Director Danish Sharma.
