KUPWARA, June 5: An inter-district football tournament was held at Wailgam which was inaugurated by the Minister for CA&PD and Transport, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan Handwara constituency.
Large number of students, both boys and girls drawn from Higher Secondary Schools of the district took part in the tournament organized by District Youth and Sports Department, Kupwara.
On this occasion, the Minister distributed Rs. two lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for purchase of sports material for the sports lovers of the district.
Several deputations called on the Minister during his extensive tour of the district and apprised him about various problems confronting them which include supply of ration, LPG, drinking water, irrigation facility, medicare facility and transport.
The Minister on-the-spot issued instructions to the concerned officers accompanying him for redressal of the grievances of the people of the area.
District Development Commi-ssioner, Kupwara, Itrat Hussain was present on the occasion.
Later, the Minister inspected various ongoing projects in the constituency. He directed the officers to speed up the pace of work on these projects and complete them within stipulated time frame. He also inspected various health centres, sale outlets and educational institutions and directed for efficient work culture and dedicated attitude towards the duties by the officials working in these Government offices.
