JAMMU Jan 4: Minister for CAPD and Transport, Chaudhary Mohammad Ramzan, today, kick started 8th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament here at Science College today. The tournament has been organized by All J&K Christian Welfare Association, Jammu.
In total, 20 teams are participating in the tournament while the inaugural match was played between Sainik Colony and Jammu United. The final match is scheduled to be played on January 13, 2014.
Earlier, rich tributes were paid to Master Salim, who died recently. The Minister appreciated the role of Master Salim which he played for promotion of football game in the State.
The Minister while talking to the players underlined need for for making the game more popular in the State. He said game creates sense of competition and appealed players to show the patience and discipline while playing the matches.
