JAMMU, June 4: Brilliant batting display by former Ranji Trophy Player, Rakesh Koul and National Player, Amritpal Singh guided Vishal Cricket Club to a big win by 9 wickets over Saffron Cricket Club in the ongoing JKCA District Level Cricket Tournament, being organised under the overall supervision of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member Judicial State Human Rights Commission and Member JKCA at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Batting first, Saffron Cricket Club scored 178 runs in 36.1 overs. Raman top scored with 32 runs, while Rinku and Rahat contributed 29 and 23 runs to the total respectively. From Vishal Cricket Club, Ramandeep Sinmgh took 3 wickets, while Praful Dhar and Ajit Singh took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Vishal Club rode on a brilliant batting display by Rakesh Koul (86) and Amritpal Singh (61) and helped their team to win by 9 wickets. Rohan Gill contributed 11 runs to the winning total. Both Koul and Amritpal sent the rival bowlers on leather-hunt with their awe-inspiring shots. From Saffron Club, Kartik took the lone wicket to fall. For his magnificent batting display, Rakesh Koul was adjudged as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Vijay Raina and Sanju.
