Rajendra discusses arrangements for All India Police Hockey Championship

K Rajendra, ADGP Armed/Law & Order discussing arrangements for All India Police Hockey Championship in Jammu on Wednesday.

JAMMU, Nov 7:  61st All India Police Hockey Championship is being held at Jammu from December 7, 2012. The championship is being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police and would last for eight days. It would conclude on December 14, 2012.
Arrangements for the championship were discussed at a senior police officers meeting held at K K Hakku Stadium this afternoon. The meeting was chaired by the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Armed/Law & Order, K Rajendra Kumar.
Addressing the meeting, Rajendra disclosed that more than 500 players in 26 teams representing different states and Central police Organizations would be participating in the eight day long championship. The championship would be played at two venues in the winter capital. K K Hakku Hockey Stadium would be the main venue, besides some matches of the championship would be played at Jammu University. The national championship is being held under the aegis of All India Police Sports Control Board,  he added.
Rajendra stressed upon the members of the committees already constituted, to ensure arrangements for the prestigious championship. Boarding and Lodging for the guest teams was also discussed in the meeting and it was decided that convenient accommodation would be provided to the visiting teams and the management.
The ADGP asked the officers to work in close coordination and utilize previous experiences for making the championship a success. He also emphasised to identify the most talented players of the department in the discipline who could represent to the Jammu and Kashmir Police Organization in the national level championship.
Among others, the meeting was attended by DIsGP, T Punchok and Johny William, SSPs, Vijay Singh Samyal, Nissar Ahmed and  M A Untoo, SPs, Jung Bahadur Singh, Mir Mohammad Choudhary, Ranjit Kanwar, Ashok Kumar Sharma,  M A Khan and T D Saini, Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital Jammu, Dr Poonum Mahajan, Sports Officer, APHQ, Jameel Ahnmed and other police officers.
