Rahul, Samvit finish Khardung La Challenge

JAMMU, Sept 9: Two Ultra runners from Jammu namely Rahul Sharma and Samvit Sharma have finished ‘Khardung La Challenge’ (5370 Mtrs) with a distance of 72 Kilometres today.
Rahul finished the race in 11 hours and 50 minutes, while Samvit covered the distance in 13 hours and 39 minutes.
The Khardung La Challenge (72km) is the highest Ultra Marathon in the world. This race is amongst the toughest and Ultimate Challenging Endurance Race for the serious runner who wants to push his or her limits to the extreme. This race is only for the fittest and very experienced runners. The harsh conditions makes this extremely tough as you will be running approximately 60km of the race at above 4000 metres (14,000ft)
The race started from Village Khardung and went towards North Pulu to Khardung La Top to South Pulu and ended at Leh Main Market. Runner has to finish a total distance under 14 hours and it has a different cut-off in between as well. If a runner fails to reach a point in given timelines then his race ends there only and he has been marked as DNF (Did not finish).
