Srinagar, June 4: A strong sprint at finish line saw Qurat-ul-Rashid of Govt Physical Education College Ganderbal winning Inter-college cycle race, here today. The race started at Nishat and culminated at Kashmir University gate.
Around 60 cyclists representing different colleges of the Valley participated in the event. It was first women cycling event of the year and almost all the top cyclists of different colleges participated. The event was flagged at Nishat by Director Physical Education Kashmir University Prof Bashir Ahmad Khan. Qurat-ul-Rashid of Govt Physical Education College Ganderbal secured first place with a comfortable lead while as Insha Wadoo of Womens College M. A Road Srinagar got second place and Elizabath of Govt Physical Education College Ganderbal gotted third place. The concluding ceremony was held at university ground in which Prof. Bashir Ahmad Khan Director Physical Education Kashmir University was the cheif guest and disturbuted prizes. The race was organised by Physical Education Department Kashmir University. Physical Directors of different colleges were other guests present on the occasion. Later Qurat attributed his sucess to the support of college staff.
