JAMMU, Nov 9: Quarterfinals position has been cleared in the ongoing North Zone Inter University Handball (M&W) Championship conducted by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at its Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the pre-quarterfinals of men’s section, PTU Jalandhar defeated University of Allahabad by (36-15), Delhi University lost to GNDU Amritsar by (33-27), University of Jammu defeated BSGS University Rajouri by Jammu University by (29-08), RMLA University Faizabad lost to LPU Phagwara by (36-30).
In women’s section pre-quarters, PU Chandigarh defeated HP University Shimla by (22-09), MJP Rohailkhand University Bareilly lost to RMLA University Faizabad by (12-05), University of Jammu defeated GADU Ludhiana by (13-05) and LPU Phagwara outplayed CCSU Meerut by (17-12).
The matches were officiated by Kartar Dogra, Vikas Sharma, Lakwinder Singh, Kaushal Dixit, Iqbal Singh, Kapil Sharma, Sanjeev Jamwal, Anoop Singh, Gourav Sharma, Karun Magotra, Bhan Priya, Roshini, Priya Choudhary, Priya Charak, Reeva, Prabhleen Kour, Rupali Sharma, Pooja Sharma and Ashish Dogra.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were B K Magotra, H S Chib, S S Gill, Deputy Commandant, Anchal Singh, Kuldip Magotra, Dr Vinod Bakshi, Dr Priyanka Bhau, Dr Brij Baloria, Romesh Sharma, Goutam Sharma, VIkesh Sharma, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar, Dr Vikas Karlopia, P D Singh and Jai Bharat.
The matches are being played under the supervision of Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
