LEH, May 21: The week long Inter-School boys and girls tournament of Leh district organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports, under Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA) concluded, here today.
The handball final match was played between the boys of Higher Secondary School Khlatsi and Lamdon Senior Higher Secondary School, Leh which was won by former in an exciting contest by a margin of one goal (8-7).
The valedictory function was presided over by DDC, Leh Simrandeep Singh as the chief guest, who distributed prizes among the players.
Earlier, the District Youth & Sports Officer, Leh Abdul Rashid gave a detailed description of the week long tournament and said that 370 students of 15 Higher Secondary Schools of district Leh are participating in it.
Meanwhile, in volleyball, Higher Secondary School Khaltsi (Boys) and HSS Skurbuchan (Girls) lifted the titles, while in boys and girls football, HSS Chushot and HSS Skurbuchan claimed the winners’ trophies.
In 100 mtrs race, Stanzin Lotus of LMS, Leh bagged boys gold, while the gold in girls section was claimed Mutup Angmo of Higher Secondary School Tangtse.
