JAMMU, Apr 29: Young speed skater Puneesh Puri brought pride to Jammu and Kashmir and India with an impressive performance at the World Skate Europe Track Series 2026, competing in Portugal and Germany against top international athletes.
Representing the Simmons Rana Racing Team, Puneesh participated in the 21st International Inline Speed Skating Tournament – Terras do Infante in Lagos, Portugal and the Arena Geisingen International 2026 in Germany. He competed in highly competitive sprint and long-distance events featuring world-class skaters.
Despite strong competition, Puneesh secured an overall Top-10 finish in the Youth Men category, narrowly missing a podium finish but earning appreciation for his grit, composure and fighting spirit.
His performance was lauded by coaches, mentors and the Simmons Rana Racing Team for his promising international potential. Puneesh is now preparing for upcoming Indian team trials and future international events.
