Priya stresses on promoting Scouts & Guides activities

JAMMU, Apr 29: State Headquarters Bharat Scouts and Guides today felicitated Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture Priya Sethi.
In her address, Priya Sethi congratulated Bharat Scouts and guides for organizing the programme in which over 100 Scouts and Guides participated from different schools.
She laid emphasis on role of moral education, discipline and human values in day-to-day life. Formal education along with moral education plays vital role in complete development of a child, she added.
“Activities of Scouts and Guide need encouragement as they promote character building, spirit of camaraderie and brotherhood, which is vital is overall character building of an individual,” she emphasized.
The programme started with lighting of traditional lamp by the chief guest followed by scouting and guiding prayer.
State Commissioner Scouts and Guides, I.D. Soni threw light on formal education and functioning of Bharat Scouts and Guides in the State.
Patriotic songs were presented by students from various educational institutions on the occasion.
Others who were present on the occasion included Raj Kumari, Prabha Jain, M.M. Joshi, Raj Bharti, Sehaj Singh, M M Sharma, R P Kotwal, S S Slathia, P L Dubey, Kasturi Lal, R M Mengi, Usha Chunni and Raj Sharma.
