JAMMU, Oct 28: Minister of State for Education, Culture and Tourism, Priya Sethi today emphasized the need for promoting Scouts and Guides movement in the State with maximum participation of youth.
The Minister said this while interacting with a team of Scouts and Guides who called on her here today.
The team comprising of 12 students drawn from different schools like Oriental Academy, New Era Environmental School and Montesori Nargis Dutt Public School R.S Pura has returned from Gorkhpur Uttar Pradesh after participating in National Level Bulbul Utsav.
Interacting with the scouts and guides, the Minister advocated optimum youth participation in this noble movement as they have the potential and strength to further streamline the working and progress of this philanthropic organization. She said that participation in this movement not only provides us an opportunity to serve the cause of humanity but it further cements the bonds of love, amity and brotherhood in the society.
She stressed on encouraging the students to take part in curricular activities besides providing them proper guidance and training so that they excel in the field of their choice.
The Minister congratulated the team for winning second place in the play acting.
The team performed several activities in the national event under the guidance of ALT, Neelam Gupta.
The team members included Palak, Bhumai, Devanshi, Chandni, Sakshi, Sudhanshu, Krishna, Dhruv, Dhron, Sakshami, Ayushna and Pranav.
