Prinkle enters pre-quarters of 2nd leg of ‘Road to Wimbledon’

JAMMU, Jan 22: Ace tennis player of Jammu and Kashmir, who is top seed in the second leg of ‘Road to Wimbledon Tournament going on at Chandigarh Club, Chandigarh sector-1, entered into the last sixteen stage, today.
All the top rank tennis players of Indian boys and category are   participating in this prestigious tournament, wherein the single draw is made of 64 entries and doubles event is of 16 entries in both boys and girls categories.
Prinkle Singh along with doubles partner Dedeepya of Telangana is also top seed in doubles.
Earlier, in the first match, Prinkle was awarded a bye, while in the second match, she defeated Sharannaya  Gaware of Maharashtra in three sets by (6-1, 4-6, 6-1).
Prinkle Singh’s pre-quarterfinal match was postponed due to rain in Chandigarh and Prinkle was ahead by one set over Anjum Shaik Mubashira of Telangana.
Chetna Kumari of Delhi, Shivani Ameneni of Andhra and Tanisha Kashyap of Assam reached the quarterfinals as their matches had finished before rain.
Tennis icon, Tin Henmen from UK conducted coaching clinic for budding tennis players of Chandigarh at Rock Garden, Chandigarh.
