JAMMU, Nov 29: Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School presented a musical extravaganza title “Udaan” to mark the culmination of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in the most exquisite manner. Two shows of the programme were showcased at the General Zorawar Singh Auditorium in the Jammu University today.
The first show was witnessed by eminent guests with Sr Anne Fox, Former Provincial Leader of Presentation Congregation India and former Principal of PCS Jammu from Ireland as chief guest, and Justice OP Sharma, Father Ivan Pereira, Chairman, Jammu and Srinagar Diocesan Education Board and Principal of Burn Hall School Srinagar and senior Anice Goerge PBVM, Circle Leader, Northern Region Congregation of Presentation Sisters as guest of honour.
For the second show, the noted dignitaries who added to the grandeur of the event were Major General Dushyant Singh, GOC, 26 Infantry Division as the chief guest and Snageeta Jaitley and Sr. Dorothy Fernandes, Vice Provincial of Presentation Sisters as guest of honour.
The event involved more than 600 students-artists of the school in a spectacular performance, which was enriched with soulful music, glitzy costumes, elegant dances, innovative props, stellar performance and mime.
The concert was a beautiful blend of dance and drama, depicting the degradation of the moral values in today’s world, which has left the present generations in the State of cacophony.
The entire programme was conceived and directed by the theatrical maestro of our State, Padamshree Balwant Thakur and his creative team.
Udaan is aimed at awakening each individual to take a lead, start a new beginning and create a world of peace and harmony where future generations can live happily. Through their powerful performances, the students paid a befitting tribute to their foundress, the legendary venerable Nano Nagle.
While speaking, chief guests and school management urged all to be guided by the divine spirit ofGgod, which is in everyone of us inviting us to be role models line Nano Nagle and work towards creating a more just and sustainable society.
In the end, the vote of thanks was delivered by Poonam Kotwal Sambyal.
