JAMMU, May 16: Completing sixty glorious years of service, Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Jammu celebrated Diamond Jubilee, here today.
To commemorate the glory of its excellence the School organized its signatory event-Nano Nagle Memorial Inter-School Debate Competition.
According to the organizers, the event not only provides a platform to the rising stars of today to voice their opinions on social issues but is instrumental in making the young blood realize their responsibilities.
Brainy and enthusiastic minds of various schools from all over Jammu unleashed their debating skills on the topic, “In the Tumultuous Political and Social Scenario, Dictatorship, seems to be the only Viable Option of Governance in India.
Aimed at facilitating exchange of ideas, thoughts and fostering student interaction in a friendly competitive spirit, the debate was sponsored by the School Alumni Association.
Anoo Malhotra, Additional Commissioner, Commercial taxes, Jammu province was the chief guest on the occasion.  The event was judged by Ginny Dogra, Assistant Director, Directorate of International Quality Assurance, Dr Kavita Suri, Prof of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu and Prof Neena Gupta Vij, Department of English, Central University, Jammu.
The first position was bagged by Raggad Rafia from Jodhamal Public School while Rhythm Babbar from Heritage School got the second prize and Bhavneet Kour from Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School and Aakriti Zutshi of KC Public School was awarded the third prize. Consolation prize was given to Mehak Salathia from Banyan International School.
The coveted Nano Nagle Rolling Trophy was lifted by Jodhamal Public School.
This year a new Brain Teaser round was introduced to test the wits of young minds. The winners of the ‘BRAIN TEASER’ round were Raggad Rafia from Jodhamal Public School, Katyani Sharma APS-Akhnoor and Aakriti Zutshi from KC Public School.
The chief guest in her address appreciated the views of all participants and lauded their efforts in maintaining high standards of oratory skills.
The Nano Nagle Memorial Debate is a signatory event of the school organized every year to embolden the vision of the Foundress of the Presentation Congregation ‘Nano Nagle’.
