JAMMU, Nov 8: Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Jammu celebrated 65th Annual Sports Day on the theme ‘Saga of Sustainability’ in which students of different classes participated in various events.
Kewal Kumar Sharma, ex-Advisor to former Governor of J&K Satya Pal Malik, presided over the function as the chief guest whereas Rt. Rev. Ivan Pereira, Bishop of Jammu-Srinagar Diocese was the guest of honor.
Former Advisor declared the Annual Sports Meet open after an impressive March Past followed by lighting of the sports torch.
Students displayed their sporting spirit by participating in various sports like 100 and 200 meter races, Relay Races, Ball, Hurdle and Pyramid races. Discipline, team work and persistence were showcased by students while presenting various demonstrative drills like Hoopla, Lezium, Aerobics, Yoga and Martial Arts. Flexibility, strength and unity of mind and body were well established by young gymnasts.
Street plays depicting various Sustainable Developmental Goals i.e. Quality Education, Gender Equality, Peace and Justice, Mental Health and Well Being, Peace and Justice were also presented by the students of class XI where they stressed on the ways of achieving these goals. They heralded a world with Justice, Peace and Love.
The event culminated with a colorful grand finale with formation of SDGs.
Meritorious students of class XII were felicitated with certificates and medals.
