Srinagar, June 11: HK Stars and Murtaza Warriors made their way through to the Quarter finals of the ongoing Police Public Cricket Premier League, a gala tournament organized by the J&K Police in Srinagar.
Two matches were played in the first session at Kashmir University ground and Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium.
At Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium, the match was played between AlHamza Super Stars and HK Stars. AlHamza Super Stars won the toss and made 124 for 8 runs in 20 overs with Mohsin Ramzan making 54 runs, Abid Nabi of HK Stars took 2 wickets. In reply HK Stars chased the target by scoring 125 runs for 4 in 19.2 overs with Abid Nabi making 36 runs. He was awarded with man of the match and most sixes in the inning awards. Paras Sharma of HK Stars achieved the award of best catch of the match.
At Kashmir University ground, a match was played between Murtaza Warriors and Mirza Gladiators. Murtaza Warriors won the toss and made 136 for 9 wickets in 20 overs with Adil Rasheed making 35 runs. In reply Mirza Gladiators were bundled out for 108 for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Umar Ahmad of Murtaza Warriors was awarded with man of the match for his 20 runs and 4 wickets in 3 overs. Most sixes award was achieved by Umar Nabi of Murtaza Warriors and Adil Mushtaq of Mirza Gladiators was awarded with the best catch of the match award.
Another match was played between Anantnag and Ramhalls Lions. Anantnag while, batting first scored 173 in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Imran Bazaz scored 69 runs and Asif Rasool contributed with 41 runs. For Ramhalls Zahoor ,Irfan and Bilal took two wickets each. In reply Ramhalls managed to score only 134 runs thus lost the match by 39 runs. Main scorer were Irfan with 80 runs and faheem with 13 runs.
Another match was played between JKP Tigers and BCC Bulls. JKP tigers batting first scored 148 runs in 20 over with Jatin scoring 51 runs , Pankaj 45 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. For BCC Bulls Sakiq and Musavir took 2 wickets each while Vijay took 1 wicket. In reply BCC Bulls scored 124 runs for all in 18.5 overs with Parveen Singh 45 runs and Muneer 21 runs. For JKP Tigers Rompy took 4 wickets, Mehjoor grabbed 2 wickets, while Rajesh Gill and Jamsheed shared a wicket each.
SSP Home Guard R.K Sharma presented the awards at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium and SSP Ganderbal presented the awards at Kashmir University ground.
