POONCH, Feb 19: Continuing with the mission of Jammu and Kashmir Police of channelizing the energy of youth by providing them platform, District Police Poonch today organized Choona Hai Aasman-Season III at District Police Lines, here today.
The contest was held for the event of solo singing only where 18 participants drawn from the district took part in the event.
ADC Poonch S Jatinder Singh was the chief guest on the occasion, while Prof G L Sharma Principal Government Degree College Poonch was guest of honour.
Among those present on the occasion were advocates Mohd Zaman and Iftikhar Bazmi, congress leader Mohd Taj Mir, professors of Degree College Poonch and students of the various schools. 7 participants were selected for Range level competition to be organized at Rajouri.
In the senior male category, Ahsan Asgar and Rameez Rather were adjudged as winner and runners-up, while in the female senior category only Fareen Fatima was selected.
In the female junior category, Fareen Akther secured first position, whereas Kanishka Sharma bagged second position.
In the male junior category Danish Rather secured first position whereas Paramdeep Singh secured second position. The seven selected participants will compete at Range level competition from where the winner will have opportunity to participate at the State Level.
SP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain while speaking on the occasion said that in addition to the bounden duties J&K Police endeavor is to contribute positively in the society.
