Poonam enters semis; Sanathoi, Roshibina in QFs

JAMMU, Oct 20: Poonam sealed berth in the semifinals, while Y Sanathoi Devi and Roshibina Devi have entered quarterfinals in the 15th World Wushu Championship.
Poonam cruised into the semis by defeating her counterpart from Russia.
Meanwhile, Ravi Panchal won pre- quarterfinal bout while defeating a contestant from Afghanistan.
The Indian 10-member team has been cleared by the Sports Authority of India. The rest of the players from the country who are taking part in this event include Praveen Kumar, Vikrant Kumar and Suraj Yadav, who will be playing pre-quarterfinal bouts late in the evening today.
J&K’s Kuldeep Handoo (National Chief Coach) and Rajesh Kumar Tailor are accompanying the team as coaches.
