Police organizes Volleyball tournament at Jawalapur

Jammu, Nov 12: Range Police Headquarters Batote today organised a volleyball tournament in the Jawalapur area of district Kishtwar. Deputy Inspector General of Police, DKR Range, Dr.Sunil Gupta accompanied by Sr. Superintendent of Police, District Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt inaugurated the event in the premises of Banoon Hr. Sec. School.
The tournament witnessed the participation of six young teams.Two teams Youngster Bhatyas and Nali reached the final which was won by Youngster Bhatyas by 2-1 scoreline in best of three games.
The winner and runner up of the tournament were awarded with medals,trophies and certificates of merit.
The mementoes were also presented to the respectables who provided their services in the successful completion of the event. Huge gathering comprising locals and inhabitants of adjoining villages added grace to the occasion.
DIG DKR Range Dr. Sunil Gupta in his speech while praising the enthusiasm of the youth of Jawalapur, a very far flung area of district Kishtwar towards sports activities, assured the participants and spectators of carrying forward such initiatives of JKP wherein platforms are provided to the local youths to showcase their talents in different fields at their doorstep.
The DIG futher asserted the different activities are being conducted throughout the Range in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts like career counselling, cleanliness drives, painting competition, marathon run, musical gatherings and other sports activities like football, kho-kho and Tug of War among others while celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and remembering the matrys and paying rich tribute to their sacrifices given in the line of duty.
The DIG DKR and SSP Kishtwar thanked the public. The localites hailed such initiative of Jammu and Kashmir Police for organizing such events aiming to boost the morale of youth.
