REASI, Mar 14: District Police organized ‘Dangal’at Kalka Mandir Akhara here today under Civic Action Programme (CAP).
Around 70 wrestlers from different parts of the UT participated in the wrestling event, while a total of around 35 bouts were held wherein different wrestlers of different weight competed with each other and got cash prizes decided by the organizing committee.
The main bout was held between the wrestler Babba of Jammu Akhara and Surjeet Singh of Reasi Akhara. Both the players fought well during the bout and finally wrestler Surjeet Singh lifted the title.
SSP Reasi Amit Gupta said that Police is committed to give the platform to youth of the district for their excellence in every field whether it is sports or education. He further added that different events are being organised in every nook and corner of the district for shaping the talent of youngsters and keeping them away from other immoral activities.
The SSP Reasi was accompanied by District wrestling Federation members and DySP HQ Reasi Neeraj Padyar and SHO Vijay Sharma.
