Police Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament inaugurated

SAMBA, Oct 28: Samba Police under the supervision of SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, inaugurated “Police Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament” at Rani Suchet Singh, Sports Stadium, here under Police Flag Day Programme-2022.
The Football tournament is being organized in the loving memory of J&K Police Martyrs who had laid down their lives to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of Nation.
The Football tournament is being played on knockout basis. In the said tournament, eight football teams of boys across District had participated.
In the inaugural day, four league matches were played among the teams Gurha Football Club Vs Thalora Mandi Football Club, Sangwali Mandi Football Club Vs Vijaypur Football Club, Katli Football Club Vs Badhori Football Club and Kehli Mandi Football Club Vs Nud Football Club. In the league matches, Thalora Mandi Football Club, Sangwali Mandi Football Club, Katli Football Club and Kehli Mandi Football Club emerged as winner in their respective matches.
Later, first semi-final match was played between Kehli Mandi Football Club and Katli Football Club which was won by the Kehli Mandi Football Club and secured a berth in the Final Match. The second semi-final match between the Sangwali Mandi Football Club Vs Thalora Mandi Football Club will be played tomorrow.
SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, said that the aim of organising such sports event is to provide a platform to the youth to explore their hidden talent and nourish their capabilities at the professional level.
