Police Inter-Zone Sports Meet from today

JAMMU, Mar 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police is going to organise four days Inter-Zone Sports Meet-2021 to promote sports culture among police personnel at different venues including Jammu University Ground, MA Stadium, DPL Ground and Gulshan Ground, here from tomorrow.
It was disclosed by A K Choudhary, ADGP Armed J&K during the press conference, held today at Gulshan Ground.
“The J&K Police has over the years been organising Inter-Zone Sports Meet as part of its Annual Sports Calendar. The main objective for conducting this sports meet is to spot and select players from all the wings of J&K Police, so that they can be included in the J&K Police Central Sports team in order to represent J&K Police at State and National level competitions,” said ADGP.
The sport events will be organised in various disciplines including Athletic, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Handball, Weightlifting, Kabaddi, Shooting, Judo, Hockey, Wushu, Tug of War, Volleyball, Bodybuilding, Fencing, Pencak Silat, Arm Wrestling, Power lifting and Sepak Takraw in both men and women categories of different Zones viz Armed, SDRF/HG, Jammu, Kashmir, Training and INTELSECT (consisting of CID, Crime, Telcom, Traffic, Security, Railways and SSG), he added.
“We are expecting 1200 to 1500 players will compete in various games during the meet besides Gazetted Officers are also taking part in GOs event,” ADGP narrated.
The event will start from tomorrow and will culminate on March 16. The opening ceremony of the Meet will be inaugurated by DGP J&K, Dilbag Singh.
