KISHTWAR, May 14: DKR Range Headquarters, Batote organized a Volleyball tournament under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Chowgan Ground Kishtwar here today in which various Volleyball teams of the district participated.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom accompanied by other officers, inaugurated the tournament. SSP Kishtwar welcomed all the teams and supporters, stating that such sporting events, under various ongoing welfare programmes of the Police Department will continue.
The budding sports persons will be given a level playing field to display their talent and ensure their career progression under these flagship programmes. He emphasized the collective responsibility of parents, civil society members, and the police to organize such platforms to keep the younger generation away from the scourge of drug addiction and antisocial, anti-national acts.
