Police holds T20 tournament at Kehli Mandi

SAMBA, Feb 28: Range Police Hqrs. Jammu organized a T20 Cricket tournament under Civic Action Programme at Sports Ground Kehli Mandi, here today.
The tournament was inaugurated by chief guest DIG Jammu Shakti Kumar Pathak, while Benam Tosh, SSP Samba was the guest of honour and Staff Officer to DIG Jammu Rajinder Katoch, Chairman Municipal Committee Samba Pawan Kohli and Councilor Vinod Binny were the special guests.
The committee members of Range Police Headquarter Jammu were also present at the venue site for smooth functioning of the event.
The event starts with the welcome of the chief guest with a band, followed by offering flowers to the portrait of the martyrs.
The DIG boosted the morale of the players to take part in the sports activities and stay away from drugs, He also said that Jammu and Kashmir Police will organize such types of events in future as well.
The Staff Officer to DIG Jammu Rajinder Katoch narrated the whole schedule and prize money for the winning team, runner up team and man of the match awards.
The SSP Benam Tosh played a major role in organizing the event in Samba and thanked the DIG Jammu for organizing such a type of event. There are four pools and each pool has eight teams.
The opening match, Chichi Mata Cricket Club Samba beat Samba Warriors by 81 runs and Sourabh Sharma declared man of the match for scoring 60 runs in 49 balls and took 2 wickets, while in 2nd match, Chandwan Cricket Club defeated Baba Hasal Dev Cricket Club by 133 runs and Suresh Kumar declared as man of the match for his splendid batting by scoring 89 runs in just 49 balls.
The final and semi-final matches will be played in Jammu district.
