PG Law & Sciences, Sarveshwar Club register wins, enter quarterfinal stage

JAMMU, Jan 9: PG Law and Sciences of Jammu University and Sarveshwar Club registered wins and entered in the quarterfinal stage of the ongoing 3rd Christmas T-20 Cricket Cup for College Students and J&K Cricketers at Parade cricket ground, here today.
In the first match of the day, PG Law and Sciences defeated Commerce College by 27 runs.
Batting first, PG Law and Sciences scored 129 runs in stipulated 18 overs for loss of 4 wickets. Gourav was the top scorer with 69 runs, whileas Nadeem and Sahil made 13 runs each.
For Commerce College side, Monu took 2 wickets, whereas Aditya and Mohit claimed 1 wicket each.
Commerce College in reply could not achieve the target and made only 102 runs in 17.2 overs by losing all wickets. Somay Jain scored 38 runs, Mohit made 30 runs and Subrat contributed with 12 runs.
For PG Law and Sciences side, Sahil was the pick of the bowler with 4 wickets, whereas Vinay took 3 wickets. Rahul and Rohit shared 1 wicket each.
Gourav from PG Law and Sciences was declared as man of the match.
In the second match, Sarveshwar Club scripted a narrow win over Strikers XI by just 15 runs and entered into quarterfinal.
Batting First, Sarveshwar Club made 118 runs in 18 overs by losing 6 wickets. Sunil made 31 runs and Narotam scored 23 runs.
For Strikers XI side, Parshant and Sahil also took 2 wickets each, whereas Ritik and Surinder shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Strikers XI bundled out at 103 runs in 17.3 overs for all out. Sachin was the top scorer with 33 runs, whereas Vishal made 24 runs and Mohit scored 17 runs.
For Sarveshwar Club side, Pardeep was the pick of the bowler with 4 wickets, whileas Narotam took 3 wickets, Sunil, Ankush and Kavit shared 1 wicket each.
Narotam of Sarveshwar Club was adjudged as man of the match for his all round performance.
The matches were officiated by Sanju, Suhail Yusuf, Vinod and Farooq.
Malik Aijaz, Physical Director of the Commerce College was the chief guest in today’s matches.
