JAMMU, Sept 30: In the final of Kho-Kho competition that was held today at Sports Ground, Opposite GZSA, University of Jammu (JU), Jammu, PG Department defeated Government College for Women (GCW) Gandhi Nagar by 4 points and clinched the trophy.
Prof Neeru Sharma, Director, Centre for Women Studies, was the chief guest on the occasion, who awarded the trophy to the winning team whereas Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, Jammu, presided over the function.
The match was officiated by Gagan Kumar, Anil Sharma, Anil Kumar, Ankush Sharma and Abhishek Sharma while Gagan Kumar, Football Coach, University of Jammu, conducted the match.
Meanwhile, various Singles and Doubles matches in Inter-Collegiate Badminton (Men/Women) Tournament 2014-15, were played in the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, Jammu.
In Women’s Section, GCW Gandhi Nagar beat GDC Udhampur by 2–0. In 1st Single, Suvidha beat Ulfar by 21-6 while in Doubles, Pratibha and Suvidha beat Pallvi and Hafeeza by 21–8.
GWC Udhampur beat SPMR College of Commerce by 2–0. In 1st Single, Shipalika beat Supriya by 21-2 while in Doubles, Shipalika and Shriya beat Haneet and Namla by 21–8.
PG Department beat GWC Parade by 2–0. In 1st Single, Prabjot beat Jyotsana by 21-4 while in Doubles, Prabjot and Akanksha beat Jyotsana and Shakombri by 21–4.
GDC Kathua beat GDC Paloura by 2–0. In 1st Single, Neha beat Deepa by 21-16 while in Doubles, Neha and Preeti beat Deepa and Shivangi by 21–6.
In Men’s Section, Law School beat GDC Udhampur by 3–0. In 1st Single, Chanderdev beat Vinayak by 22–20 and in 2nd Single Anuragh beat Subrit by 22–20 while in Doubles, Chander and Syed Akeel beat Rajat and Vinayak by 21–18.
GDC Rajouri beat GDC RS Pura by 3–0. In 1st Single, Sahil beat Navjot by 21–09 and in 2nd Single, Ishar beat Gulchain by 21–16 while in Doubles, Sahil and Ishar beat Amit and Balvinder by 21–12.
MAM College beat PG Department by 3–0. In 1st Single, Irfan Hussain beat Sahil by 21–18 and in 2nd Single, Nakhil beat Sachin by 21–10 whereas in Doubles, Irfan and Arjun beat Amit and Abhishek by 22–20.
GGM Science College beat GDC Ramnagar by 3–0. In 1st Single, Ashan K beat Sanjay by 21–12 and in 2nd Single Vishal beat Rohit by 21–19 while in Doubles, Ashank and Vishal beat Sanjay and Dvyam by 21–15.
All the matches were officiated by Vikram Jamwal, Ravish Vaid, Rakesh Verma and Amit Sharma, and played under the direct supervision of Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, Jammu.
