JAMMU, Nov 1: PG Department defeated Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar and won the title trophy of the on-going Inter-Collegiate Volleyball (Women) Tournament 2013-14, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at University Sports Stadium, here.
PG Department beat GCW, Gandhi Nagar in straight sets (3-0) with set scores (25-19, 25-09, 25-20).
From the winners, Sangeeta, Stenzin and Suman were star performers, whereas Bindu Verma, Manu and Rohini performed well for loosers.
The final match was conducted under the supervision of Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian S Bhau,
Kuldeep Magotra, vice president, Volleyball Federation of India was the chief guest who presented the trophy to the winners and runners-up teams on the occasion, while Romesh Sharma, chairman Selection Committee, Volleyball Federation of India, was guest of honour. Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports presided over the function.
Prominent among others present at the venue were Sanjeev Jamwal, Nisha Sharma, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Vikas Karlopia, Ravish Vaid and Gagan Kumar.
The match was officiated by Mulkh Raj, Ajay Sharma, Amit Sharma and Jeevan.
