JAMMU, June 11: Performing Arts Association of Jammu and Kashmir organised District level dance, singing and acting competitions at Government Polytechnic College Bikram Chowk, here today.
The event was inaugurated by Suneel Mahajan, eminent social worker and president of J&K Athletic Association as chief guest, while Rajiv Batra, general secretary of Netball Association of J&K was guest of honour and Tajinder Singh (President) and Gurvinder Kour (Secretary) of J&K Performing Arts unit graced the event as special guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Suneel Mahajan said that these events bring out the best of potential in the students. “The students can tap their unexplored talent so that their energies can be better channelized for constructive activities,” he said.
He advised the participants to work hard and make their birth place and country proud.
About 80 children and youth from various localities of Jammu participated and exhibited their talent in the field of dance and singing.
The dance event was judged by a team of Romit Sawhney and Rajan, while Kuldeep Kumar, Rohit Sharma and Azad Fangotra judged the singing event and Vidhya Bhushan was the judge of the acting competition.
The event was organized by Akashdeep (District secretary DSC Jammu) and Nitin Sanotra, Director of Auspicious Dance Academy, Jammu.
CEO of Performing Arts Association, Gurvinder Kour informed that they were conducting such events at every district, which will be followed by UT level competitions.
Mementos and certificates were presented among winners by the chief guest in presence of society members and parents of the children.
