SAMBA, Mar 6: Pathankot-XI lifted the title trophy of 3rd Annual T20 Cricket tournament by Chandwa-XI, played at Rai Sports Stadium Ghagwal, here today.
Chandwa XI won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Pathankot XI scored 162 runs in stipulated 20 overs. Shakti made 51 runs, while Ripu contributed 27 runs. While chasing the target, the team of Chandwa-XI failed to reach the target and bundled out at 120 runs.
Shakti was awarded with man of the match award for his outstanding batting while Ranjit Punia, the all-rounder of the team was declared the best player of the tournament who scored 116 runs and took 9 wickets during the tournament.
Suresh Kumar Falli, Member District Development Council Ghagwal was the chief guest along with BJP leader Rachpal Verma and SHO Ghagwal Vijay Verma.
The winning and runner-up teams were honoured with prizes by the chief guest. Ashwani Verma and Lovely Singh were the umpires.
On this occasion Romesh Verma, Krishna Verma, Bishamber Lalotra, Suresh Singh, Pradeep Singh, Ompal Sharma, Suresh Handal, Suresh Sharma, Sushil Sharma, Hitesh Verma and Vikas Verma were present during the event.
