Srinagar, Aug 20: Cricketer Yousuf Khan Pathan who is not part of the national team today said that he was hopeful to make a comeback in the international cricket within six months.
Pathan while launching Downtown Champions League T20 (DCL) cricket tournament in old city Srinagar said that he is hopeful to make a comeback in Indian team within six months. “Inshahallah, I will be back in Indian team within six months,” he said.
Pathan when asked to comment on the non-inclusion of Parveiz Rasool in the playing eleven of Indian team in Zimbabwe said that he was no body to speak on the topic as it was a decision of team management and captain.
“I am outsider for the team; it was the team management decision to select a player for the playing team. What the decisions they took in Zimbabwe, I cannot comment on that,” Pathan said.
Praising the local sponsors who have arranged the downtown T20 cricket tournament, Pathan said that he is appreciating the moves of local private sponsors in organizing the tournament.
“Apart from Government tournaments, the private tournaments will also help in bringing the young talent forward. These tournaments will provide a platform to the local cricketers to show their talent and provide a platform to perform at national and international level tournaments,” he said.
Replying to a question regarding poor facilities for the growing cricketer of the state, the international cricketer said that he cannot comment on the facilities being provided to the local cricketers.
The downtown champion’s league will start next month in old Srinagar and 12 teams will participate in the league cum knockout tournament.
