JAMMU, Dec 3: Brilliant batting display by Paras Sharma, Shubam Khajuria and Zaid Mohd helped Jammu and Kashmir to gain crucial 1st innings lead over Chhattisgarh in the Cooch Behar Plate-A Tournament at Raipur in Chhattisgarh, today.
J&K managed a slender lead of 17 runs and scored 329 runs in their first innings against to the score of 312 runs set by Chhattisgarh in their first innings.
Chhattisgarh were struggling at 23/2 in their second essay at stumps on day-3 today, with opener Atul Pal on 3 and AJ Mandal on zero. J&K speedsters Rohit Sharma and Lone Nazir shared one wicket each.
Opener Shubam Khajuria scored 81 off 104 balls with the help of 12 fours and one six, while Paras Sharma made brilliant 74 runs off 148 balls, studded with 12 delectable boundaries. Zaid Mohammad scored 56 runs in 203 balls with 7 fours, while Aquib Nazir and Samad Bhat contributed 37 runs each. For Chhattisgarh, M Irfan took 4 wickets, while Irfan claimed three.
