KATHUA, Mar 3: Palli Morh XI, Rising Star Nagri and Manjeet Cricket Club registered wins in the open Cricket Tournament being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports in collaboration with J&K Sports Council, here.
The tournament is being organised at four different venues of Kathua namely Sports Stadium Hiranagar, Sports Ground Gadial, Sports Stadium Naz Billawar and Sports Ground Bhaddu.
At Sports Stadium Hiranagar, Palli Cricket Club defeated Value Cricket Club by 6 wickets.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Value Cricket Club scored 160 runs in the allotted 15 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Aditya top scored with quick-fire 72 runs off just 31 balls.
Palli Morh XI Barnoti chased the target easily by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Balbinder was the top scorer with 68 runs off 30 balls. He also claimed 3 important wickets for the team.
In another match Rising Star Nagri outplayed Saab Ji XI Kathua by 47 runs. Ajay of Rising Star Nagri scored 37 off 19 balls.
At Army Ground Gadial, Manjeet Cricket Club Chhan Arorian outplayed Kathua Yes XI by 6 wickets and Chandwan XI Hiranagar defeated Royal Stikers Kharote by 110 runs.
