Orientation programme for B. Tech fresh batch held

JAMMU, Aug 20: An orientation programme for the Fresh Batch 2015 students of B Tech of Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) was conducted, here today.
The aim of the event was to  get the students well acquainted with the rich  cultural legacy of Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions (JGEI), state of the art facilities, professional  opportunities and various platforms which help them to emerge as a competent professionals and technocrats.
The events served the purpose of early socialization and helped in creating a sense of institutional belongingness among the budding engineers.
Er Vidhi S Singh, Chairman, JGEI was the chief guest.
In the welcome address, Dr. Seema Narain, Director, YCET, highlighted the significance of studying in the prestigious College which provides an ocean of opportunities to students for learning and professional growth..
Er. P.K. Nanda, former Executive Engineer from Hydraulics Wing, Govt of India, recipient of many national & international awards and presently Consultant and Technical Manager with JVR Infra, a Hyderabad based Multinational was the guest speaker on the occasion.
He alongwith Er. B.B. Gandotra. Er. Nanda stressed on filling the technology space through innovation.
Er B.R. Verma, Dean Academics, highlighted the significance of engineering disciplines and their relevance in the contemporary times. He spoke about the importance of 3 Ds; namely dedication, devotion and determination and said that YCET has outstanding infrastructural facilities and faculty which complement the efforts of the management to deliver the best.
A K Kaul, TPO, emphasized the need for possessing 21st Century skills to gain competitive advantage over other equally strong contenders vying for the coveted technical slots in the public and private sector.
The programme was coordinated by Er Rhea Mahajan, COD, Computer Engineering and Er. Dinesh Gupta, COD, Electrical Engg. presented the Vote of thanks.
