Open Kashmir Powerlifting C’ship held

SRINAGAR, Oct 23: Kashmir Sports Powerlifting Association organised ‘Open Kashmir Powerlifting Championship’ at Gindun Stadium, here today.
Athletes of different weight categories and age groups participated in the championship and showcased their skills in the day-long competitions.
Farooq Ahmed Dar, president of the Association distributed prizes and certificates among the successful players. He said that the sports field is the best alternative to keep the young generation away from drug menace.
He further said a healthy body is essential for a healthy mind and appealed that the society should come forward by itself so that the youth can be protected from this poison and attracted towards sports.
Manager Bakshi Stadium, Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar, renowned body builder Mir Murtaza and Mudasir Aziz, general secretary of Association, Inayat Ullah secretary, Arshid Ahmed Bhat, Gh. Jeelani Sheikh and Mohasin Bashir Baktoo were also present on the occasion.
