JAMMU, Aug 16: In order to encourage and promote physical fitness among the people, Corporator Ward Number 50 of Jammu Municipal Corporation Neena Gupta inaugurated an open-air gym at Public Park, Sector 2 Ward Number 50, Channi Himmat here.
Corporator Raj Kumar, Advocate Ishant Gupta BJP J&K Co-Incharge Department of IT and Social Media and BJP Jammu District Secretary Balwan Singh were also present on the occasion.
The gym has been established by JMC equipped with facilities like arm wheel, twister, cycle, waist and back relaxer and cross-walkers, which are tamper and weather-proof machines.
Speaking on the occasion, Neena Gupta said that she is committed towards her promises made for the development of Ward Number 50 and appeals to citizens that their support in every sphere is important for the overall development. She asserted that these gyms are suited not only for reaching the required fitness levels, but can also be used for medical and health treatments.
“With features like the ease of accessibility and free usage, it may even prove to entice the un-initiated residents into a healthier lifestyle” she said. Neena added that to further promote this initiative, efforts will be made to set up additional such gyms throughout all parks in Ward No. 50 to facilitate residents.
