JAMMU, Sept 27: Excise Magistrate Jammu Amarjeet Singh Langeh today stayed two notifications issued by General Secretary of J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) regarding formation of a Committee and a Sub-Committee to look-after the work of Association in Jammu.
The notifications dated May 25 and September 18 were challenged by Sudershan Mehta, Joint Secretary and Rakesh Kumar, Vice-Chairman of Jammu wing of JKCA on the ground that no such committees had been framed by the Working Committee in election meeting held on May 12, 2014.
“The General Secretary has acted in violation of JKCA constitution as it is the only Working Committee which had got mandate under the constitution to constitute various sub-committees and no office bearer single handed can usurp the powers of the Working Committee”, the applicants said.
After hearing Senior Advocate MK Bhardwaj appearing for the applicants, Excise Magistrate stayed the impugned notifications issued by the General Secretary of JKCA.
