JAMMU, Apr 26: North Polytechnic defeated IECS Polytechnic by 7 wickets to win the Inter-College Cricket Tournament at IECS Polytechnic cricket ground, here.
IECS won the toss and elected to bat first and scored a fighting total of 81 runs in 10 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process.
In reply, North Polytechnic cricket team scored 82 runs in 8.5 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Kulwinder Singh was the top scorer with 40 runs including 4 big sixes and was declared as man of the match. All-rounder Romil Koul also played well.
Principal IECS, Prof. K.G. Gupta and Principal North Polytechnic, Prof. K.R. Sharma appreciated the efforts of faculty members and congratulated the winners and runners-up teams.
The match was officiated by Abhinav Sharma and Durgesh as umpires, while Angrez Singh Manhas and Neeraj Sharma were the scorers.
