SRINAGAR, Sept 10: The third day of the Kilo North Kashmir Premier League witnessed thrilling cricket encounters as teams from Lolab, Pattan, Narbal, and Ganderbal battled it out on the field.
In the first match, Mirgund Hunks (Pattan) won the toss and opted to bat. Skipper Hyder Ali led from the front with a quickfire half-century, taking on Shaheen Sports Lalpora’s bowlers. However, consistent strikes from Muzzamil and Shehzad Lone restricted the Hunks to a modest 131. In response, Shaheen Sports overcame early setbacks with a match-winning 76 not out by Shahid Mir, chasing the target with two balls to spare. Shahid was named Man of the Match and received his award from the founders of Kazhni, a women-led cooperative from Chandigam.
The second match saw NCC Narbal XI dominate Lar XI. After being reduced to 18/3, Waseem Kachur turned the game around with a sensational 149 off 63 balls, including 16 sixes and 8 fours, taking Narbal to a record 201. Lar XI faltered in reply, getting bowled out for just 89. Waseem was declared Man of the Match for his explosive knock.
Tomorrow’s matches will see Lazzat Sopore face Wallur Sports Hajin, while Friends XI Lolab take on Shartgund Cricket Club.
