JAMMU, Jan 17: Wrestler Nisar Ahmed of J&K Police from Doda defeated Wrestler Gurpreet of Zirakpur, Chandigarh and lifted 17th Dhara-Ardhan Dangal Title 2019.
The Dangal was organized by Dhara-Ardhan Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Pail (Ardhan) in Mera Mandrian, here.
83 bouts were played in the one day long dangal and an amount of Rs 3,21,000 was distributed in the shape of cash prizes among the winners and runners-up Wrestlers.
The winner of first malli bout Wrestler Nisar was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 12,000 by President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma, Sarpanch Rohit Sharma, Range Officer Surinder Singh (President of Dangal Committee) and Surjeet Singh (Vice President) while runners-up Wrestler Gurpreet got Rs 9,000 by Som Dath, Jatinder Singh, Kuljeet Singh and Rashpal Singh.
Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the Wrestlers. Sarpanch Rohit Sharma and Range Officer Surinder Gupta were the guests of honour.
2nd main bout was won by Ajay Sharma and he was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 9,000 while runners-up Wrestler Amir Khan got Rs 6,000.
Two women wrestling bouts were also played. First bout was won by Pooja of Panipat who defeated Sweety of Delhi and second bout was won by Kirti of Lucknow (UP) who defeated Neha of Rajasthan.
Members and Technical officials who helped for smooth conduct of this dangal included Range Officer Surinder Singh (President), Surjeet Singh (Vice President), Som Dath, Jatinder Singh, Kuljeet Singh, Mohinder Singh, Pawan Kumar, Kuldeep Singh, Faquir Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Kartar Chand, Munish Kumar, Rashpal Singh, Mohd Fareed, Tulinder Kumar, Sunny (Airtel), Capt (Retd) Lehar Singh and Master Ram Krishan.
